Spaghetti Squash Marinara

  • Cut a spaghetti squash in half and microwave it for 12 minutes 
  • As it cooks, heat a jar of your favorite store-bought marinara sauce
  • If you are not a fan of store bought, you can make your own with diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and any combination of Italian seasonings such as oregano or basil
  • When the squash is done, shred it with a fork and top with marinara sauce


Apple Cider Herb Dressing 

  • Combine ¾ cup of olive oil with ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar 
  • Add one teaspoon each of oregano, garlic powder, dried basil, salt, and pepper 
  • Use this dressing in place of Italian dressing on all your favorite dishes 
  • Apple cider vinegar has been known to reduce cholesterol levels, so feel free to lay it on


Chicken Fajitas 

  • Slice and grill two chicken breasts seasoned with salt, pepper, and red chili powder 
  • In a separate grill pan, toss a sliced green bell pepper and a sliced yellow onion 
  • Squeeze a lime over the finished product 
  • Serve with guacamole and salsa. 


Dark Chocolate Coconut Mocha 

  • Brew a cup of coffee 
  • Add one square of 95% dark chocolate, one tablespoon of coconut oil, a few drops of vanilla extract and a tablespoon of whipping cream 
  • Blend until frothy 
  • Though this hot mocha may seem like a treat, dark chocolate has been known to lower the bad cholesterol known as LDL


Chicken salad and sweet peppers

  • Mix one can of chicken with two tablespoons of olive oil mayo
  • Add granulated onion, garlic, salt, and pepper to taste
  • Scoop the chicken salad with sliced sweet peppers


Berry Salad

  • Grab all your favorite berries
  • Slice strawberries and combine with whole raspberries and blueberries
  • Toss with fresh spinach and a balsamic vinaigrette
  • A helping of berries has been shown to reduce LDL buildup


Avocado and Everything

  • This one may be too easy to qualify as a recipe
  • Peel and slice an avocado and sprinkle “everything” bagel seasoning on top
  • Makes a quick cholesterol-free snack


Roasted Olives

  • Drain a jar of kalamata olives
  • Dump them in a roasting pan with a few springs of rosemary
  • Roast in the oven for 10 minutes at 375
  • Let cool down and start snacking
