Ground beef is anything but boring, especially for Picky Eaters. This versatile meat that can be found on the cheap at just about any grocery store is anything but plain. It can be seasoned and dressed up for even the fanciest of occasions. And one of its best qualities is that it is almost impossible to mess up. If you think ground beef is just for backyard barbecues and sloppy joes, keep reading to these amazingly tasty ground beef recipes for picky eaters.

Southwestern Stuffed Peppers

Season a pound of ground beef with cayenne, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Once browned and drained, stuff it into four red bell peppers. Stand the bell peppers a roasting pan and top with shredded cheese. Roast in the oven at 350 until the cheese bubbles and browns.

Meatballs

Break out the breadcrumbs, chopped yellow onion, oregano, and fresh basil. Add these to your ground beef along with salt, pepper, and an egg. Be careful to not overwork the meat as it can become tough. Bake on a cookie sheet at 350 for 15 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through. Add them to a simmering pot of pasta sauce and serve with your favorite cut of pasta.

Lasagna

There is nothing quite like coming home to the fragrant spices of a lasagna that has spent an hour in the oven. Layer your seasoned ground beef over lasagna noodles along with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. Bake at 350 or until the mozzarella on top becomes brown and bubbly.

Sheppard’s Pie

Season a pound of ground beef with salt, pepper, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. As it browns, add a diced onion, ¼ cup of frozen peas, and two diced carrots. Place in a pie pan and top with a heaping helping of homemade mashed potatoes. Bake for 20 minutes at 350.

Salisbury Steak

Place a pound of ground beef in a bowl with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and divide into three patties. Melt some butter and olive oil in a skillet and fry your three portions of ground beef on both sides. Remove the patties and add a chopped onion and one cup of mushrooms to the pan with a cup of beef broth and a tablespoon of tomato paste. Place your patties in the pan again and spoon the sauce on top. Serve over mashed potatoes.

Hopefully these recipes have given you a new outlook on ground beef. If you were running out of ways to dress up this protein packed ingredient, trying the above options is a perfect way to bring a little more ground beef back into your life.
